Bottle Inspiration

I was inspired by Marty from A Stroll Through Life when she wrote about her decanters here. I went downstairs to the storage room and found some bottles sitting on a shelf with other decor items. I was so glad I hadn't gotten rid of them because sometimes I tend to do that.

I had received the tall one from a friend and the smaller one was a gift from a student.

I put the tall one here in the foyer for now

and searched for ideas for the smaller bottle.  I saw these at Michaels the other day

and I found these on Healther Bullard's wonderful blog.

Look at what I found at Michaels! I bought the beads before I saw Heather's photo - I just had to have them. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them and was so excited when I saw her photo and thought about how I could use them!

So here is my little bottle sitting on my bathroom counter.

I adorned it with the above items plus ribbon and a silver link bracelet I had wired a tiny pearl bead onto years ago when I was into making jewelry. Do you see the tiny bead?

You can see the little pearl bead better here. I like how it enhances the larger beads inside the bottle.  When school starts back up in August, it will remind me of my summer craft fun while getting ready for work.

There were two sizes of beads in the package and only the small beads would fit into the opening of this bottle. Then I remembered an old clock bottle I have treasured for many years that I hadn't thrown out and thought the larger beads would look pretty in it.

It sits in the nightstand in the guest room. I've wondered through the years what this bottle contained originally. Does anyone know?

Who has inspired you lately?

  1. Oh my word, your bottles are gorgeous. The tall decanter is stunning. The stopper is exquisite. Don't you just love the sparkle. The smaller one is so pretty with all of it's bling. I havn't seen these all embellished, but I love them. Thanks tons for the shout out and thanks for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty

  9. Very pretty, Patty! I have seen all the wonderful decanters that Marty has found, too. I had a square one out for awhile and recently put it away for now. I love your little bottle! I can't believe Michael's is selling them like that. I've decorated my own, too, and I think you can have more fun making it your own and coordinating with your rooms.
