Christmas Card Gift Tags

Looking for something to do with your Christmas cards now that Christmas has passed? I like to recycle mine by making them into gift tags. I will show you how I do it with my Big Shot machine.




 First of all, gather together holiday cards and tear or cut off the front. If the inside has a nice sentiment it can be used too.



This is the die template that I used to make the tag shapes. The tag on the right has a crease so it can fold over. The slit at the top under the hole will hold it closed. The clear plastic pieces under the die template are what you use to sandwich it to make it fit in the Big Shot Machine.


You need a die cut machine, the two pieces that sandwich the die template (shown above) and scissors.

I made a bunch of them. I also used this die and process for Santa's magic key here.


If you don't have the Big Shot machine, there are other ways to punch tags. I just happen to love this one. What will you be doing with your Christmas cards?

  1. Hi Patty, I love your gift tags! Here's what I do with my cards after Christmas. I look through them one more time as I say a prayer for each family represented. Then I recycle them, but I save ones with person's personal photos.
